Atlanta, GA–HIPnation has expanded into Augusta, Georgia and is working with Dr. Edward Boland and Dr. Rob Lamberts and Physician Assistants Davis Mellick, PA-C and Rachel Milner Mellick, MPA, PA-C.
Dr. Edward Boland graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1983 and the Medical University of South Carolina in 1994. He is board certified by the American Boards of Family Medicine, Preventive Medicine, and Obesity Medicine. He retired from the Army in 2011 and became the medical director of Live Healthy MD, a multi-disciplinary clinic designed to deal with the diseases associated with weight. In January of 2019, Ed opened a solo primary care practice using the Direct Primary Care payment model. Under this model, he is enjoying the freedom to provide full-service primary care and the time to develop relationships with his patients and their families.
Dr. Rob Lamberts has practiced internal medicine/pediatrics as a primary care physician in Augusta, GA since 1994. He went to medical school at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia and did his residency at Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis. He writes regularly for several medical publications, including Medical Economics magazine, has his own blog, which has been featured in the New York Times, the Huffington Post, and on multiple popular online medical blogs. He was an early adopter of direct primary care, opening his current practice in 2013. In 2018, he gave a TEDx talk about his practice, entitled, Hi, I’m Rob and I’m a Recovering Doctor.
Davis Mellick, PA-C, obtained his Physician Assistant certification in 2010 from the Medical College of Georgia, School of Allied Health. He graduated in 2008 from Augusta State University with a major in Chemistry and a minor in Biology.
Rachel Milner Mellick, MPA, PA-C obtained her Master of Physician Assistant certification in 2011 from the Medical College of Georgia. She was on the Dean’s list and a Presidential Scholar at the University of Georgia, graduating cum laude in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She also worked in the Emergency Room for the Doctor’s Hospital of Augusta.
Mr. Mellick and Mrs. Mellick opened Evans Direct Primary Care in 2019. They practice under the supervision of Dr. Edward Boland.
