Atlanta, GA–HIPnation has expanded into Cartersville, Georgia and is working with Dr. Alan Barnes. For the past three years, Dr. Barnes has worked as a physician at the Floyd Urgent Care and Primary Care clinic in Cartersville. Dr. Barnes has cared for patients of all ages with both acute and chronic medical conditions. In August, he started his own practice in downtown Cartersville. Dr. Barnes said, “Georgia Direct Family Care will be family medicine the old fashioned way with extended visits, same day appointments, and home visits when needed.”
Son of Max and Jan Barnes, Dr. Barnes has been a lifelong native of Cartersville, Ga. After graduating from Cartersville High School, he attended the University of Georgia, graduating with a B.S. in Biological Science. He then headed to the Midwest to begin his medical career at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. He completed residency training at the Floyd Family Medicine program in Rome, Georgia and became a Board Certified Family Physician by the state of Georgia in 2016.
Alan and his wife, Carrie, have been married since 2014. They live in Cartersville, in the house that Alan grew up in. In 2018, they welcomed their daughter Lilly. Alan and Carrie are members of Sam Jones United Methodist Church in Cartersville. In his spare time, Alan loves to travel, spend time with family and friends, volunteer with the Cartersville High School athletic program, and play golf.
