Dr. Katherine Wiegman, she is Board Certified in Family Medicine and Board eligible in Internal Medicine. She is a native, born in Atlanta Georgia, and raised in Carrollton, Georgia. She went to college at the University of West Georgia and graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Biology. From there, she went on to Medical School at Mercer University School of Medicine and graduated in 2008. She did her four-year residency training program in Indianapolis Indiana.
After training, she moved back to her home state of Georgia and spent four years in the smaller communities of Bainbridge and Summerville. From there, she went on an adventure and lived-in rural Nebraska for a couple of years where she was one of the only doctors in a very small town.
She has been back in Georgia for almost three years now and has settled in Gwinnett County and is excited to be starting a practice with Dekalb MD. She is passionate about being a Primary Care Physician and partnering and collaborating with patients to prevent and treat illnesses. She has a special focus on adult medicine but loves to take care of children as well. When she is not practicing medicine, she enjoys spending time with her large family. They enjoy the warmer weather that Georgia has to offer, and they are often found on Lake Lanier or camping in the mountains.
