Profile
One of six children, Rob was born in Stuttgart, Germany as an "Army brat" and later, after his father retired, became a "preacher's kid", spending many years moving from place to place, as his father moved on to many small churches in rural areas across the country.
After a couple years of college, Rob followed in his father's footsteps and joined the Army. He signed up as a combat medic with the 82d Airborne at Fort Bragg, NC and went on to serve as a Paramedic, Flight Medic and Special Forces Medic. Rob received his Physician Assistant degree from the University of Texas in 1995 and received his Master's degree in 1997 from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine.
After 24 years in the Army, in June of 2006, Rob retired and settled with his family in Franklin. Because of the multitudes of moves throughout his life, when asked where he is from he simply replies, "The State of Confusion!"
Rob has 35+ years of experience in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Flight Medicine and Pain Management. He has served as a Compliance Officer and is certified in Health Care Compliance. He's experienced in travel medicine and has travelled extensively around the world including mission trips; two to Mexico and one to Africa. His passion has always been medicine and taking care of people. He often says that he was born 150 years too late and would have been perfectly happy being a country doc in the early days, riding around in a buckboard wagon, delivering babies or calves, and getting paid with chickens or eggs!
With GracePointe Healthcare, he hopes people appreciate his desire to give good, old-fashioned medical care mixed with modern medical know-how.
In his spare time Rob enjoys spending time with his family, flying his drone, shooting guns, fishing and watching sports.
Rob has been married to his lovely wife, Julie, since 1989 and they have four amazing, adult children. They are a close-knit family and always have room at their house for one or two more, as God has blessed them greatly and they want to share their blessings with others.
Rob sees patients 3 months and up.
