Dr. Gary Loventhal

Dr. Loventhal is a board-certified pediatrician and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). He is an Atlanta native and attended nearby Chamblee High School. He graduated cum laude from Duke University, where he majored in psychology with a special interest in childhood development. He returned to his home state and graduated from the Medical College of Georgia in 1997. He completed his residency at Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters/Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia. While in residency, he presented a Grand Rounds on “Complementary and Alternative Medicine and Pediatric Asthma.” For the eight years prior to joining Children’s Wellness Center in 2008, he practiced primary care pediatrics in West Cobb, where he specialized in asthma and behavioral pediatrics. In addition, he was the education coordinator for the practice, which involved organizing lectures and discussions with Atlanta’s top specialists in an effort to practice the highest quality, evidence based medicine. At WellStar Cobb Hospital, Dr. Loventhal helped develop protocols for asthma, bronchiolitis, and croup management. Dr Loventhal is currently a member of the AAP and the GA of the Scottish Rite Hospital/Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. In 2013, he became a partner of Children’s Wellness Center.

Dr. Loventhal annually volunteers at Camp Jenny; a camp located in the north Georgia mountains for underprivileged children from Atlanta.

Dr. Loventhal is married to Dr. Michal Loventhal, a fellow pediatrician. They live in Roswell, and are raising three wonderful daughters: Ellie, Talia, and Mayah. He stays busy traveling, playing softball, and rooting for his Blue Devils, Braves, and Falcons.
